ABOUT JEWISH STUDIO PROJECT

Jewish Studio Project (JSP) activates creativity in individuals and communities to expand their capacity for moving through challenge and change. JSP is founded on the belief that creativity exists within each of us and that creativity is a vital resource in the work of personal and social transformation. The creative process is JSP’s central tool for expanding empathy and resilience, supporting the work of dismantling oppression, and drawing forth the new narratives, insights and images that can help bring a more loving and just world into being. Since 2015, JSP has become a leading resource for creative learning and spiritual connection across the country. JSP’s innovative model - at once an art studio and house of learning - has been nationally recognized and highly sought after. Through immersive experiences, creative facilitator trainings, creative resilience cohorts and professional development partnerships, JSP is supporting thousands of individuals a year in exploring and processing our society’s questions and challenges while providing deep moments of intimacy, connection and awe.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Over the past six years, JSP has grown from a small startup into a leading national organization with six full time staff, an $800K budget, a network of Facilitators, and a community of thousands of alumni and participants. We are seeking a Program Manager to join our growing team and support our diverse program portfolio. As a critical member of our program team, the Program Manager will be responsible for project management of JSP’s programs including: recruitment, program logistics, communication and evaluation. This position is full-time and reports to JSP’s Creative Director. We prefer candidates to be local to the Bay Area and, therefore, in close proximity to our home studio. That said, much of the work can be done remotely and we are open to receiving applications from candidates residing beyond the Bay Area.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Strategy: Collaborate as an integral part of our Program Team in building and implementing JSP’s dynamic program portfolio.

Training: Be the JSP lead on all program logistics and participant support for our intensive, two-year Creative Facilitator Training program (Cohort 2 begins in late October 2021).

Network Building: Connect, support and deepen JSP’s Facilitator Network and Studio Immersive alumni communities.

Program Support: Provide end-to-end support of JSP’s programs including: recruitment, participant communications, logistical arrangements, virtual studio (Zoom) support as well as in-person program support when possible.

Evaluation: Work with the Program Team to design survey instruments, analyze impact and draft impact reports.

JSP Studio: Function as the primary staff member responsible for maintaining the JSP Studio (in Berkeley, CA) in terms of organization, managing inventory, program set up and take down.

Systems/Data: Manage participant and partner data in collaboration with JSP’s Operations Manager.

Communications: Partner with JSP’s Communications Team on program recruitment and marketing.

Reporting: Generate program reports for internal use and for updating JSP stakeholders.

You are a warm and gracious host to the many people who come to our studio (physical and virtual). You’re energized by meeting new people. You go out of your way to foster connections and genuinely want to help make someone’s day better.

You have the ability to juggle multiple work streams with optimism, enthusiasm and a rigorous attention to detail.

You’re familiar with anti-oppression frameworks and committed to building a liberatory, healed world.

You have a minimum of three years experience in program/project management.

You are proficient in Zoom, google suite, Slack and Salesforce (preferred).

Systemic inequities in hiring have caused women, people of color, LGBTQIIA+ folks, and others to apply to jobs only if they meet 100% of the qualifications. JSP encourages you to break that statistic and apply, as no one ever meets 100% of the qualifications. We look forward to your application.
